No Mess Pumpkin Decorating

Carving pumpkins is a messy business. But, scooping out the inside of a pumpkin and cutting through it, isn’t the only way to decorate one. You can create lovely decorations with Cricut and place them on your pumpkin.

Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or a complete beginner, you need a Cricut machine in your toolbox. To create these fun bats, you can use the Cricut Explore Air 2, which is more than capable of cutting cardstock.

Upload your bat design into Cricut Design space or create your design directly in Design Space. Once you’ve decided on the design, put your black card into your chosen Cricut machine, set it to cut and away you go!

When you’ve got your bats all cut out, stick them to your pumpkin with a hot glue gun. If your little ones want to get involved, make sure they are supervised when using the glue gun.

You’ll have the spookiest pumpkin in town with the help of Cricut!

Spooktacular Halloween Cards

It might not be something everyone does, but for those who are big celebrators of Halloween- why not send cards? You could use the Cricut Explore Air 2 for this one too, but you can use any machine, including the Cricut Maker

Making cards with Cricut is easy. Just like the bats, you can upload your design into Cricut Design Space or create your design directly into Design Space.

Make sure you have all your chosen cardstock ready. You may also need the Cricut Toolset if you want to get super creative and do some scoring. Make sure you’re prepared with glue sticks to stick elements of your lovely card design together.

When you’ve loaded the cardstock into the Cricut machine, make sure you’ve resized the design. Find the size option at the top of design space then click the lock to adjust the width and height to your preference. Check and see that you’ve added a scoring line so your card folds! It must be a scoring line, otherwise, your Cricut machine will cut through the paper.

Double-check that your designs are attached. If you’ve created elements for scoring and others for cutting, they need to be attached so the Cricut machine knows they are all one design.

Now you’re ready to go!

Make a Simple Spooky Garland

Keeping things simple is key when designing garlands. Like with the previous crafts, you can upload your design to Design Space or create it within Design Space.

Once you’ve chosen the shape of each element of the garland, you can tell your Cricut to cut the cardstock. If you want to add letters, create separate designs for each letter and tell your Cricut to cut those like the original shapes you made. Stick the elements together and you’re halfway there!

Using a hole puncher, put holes in the top and centre of the designs for the string to go through. Make sure the holes are in the same place on all of the designs. The best way to do this would be to punch more than one at a time. Most hole punchers are capable of punching through multiple sheets of paper at once, so this shouldn’t be a problem.

Carefully thread your string through the holes, and you’re done! You’ve got a spooky homemade garland that your friends and family will love.
