How does a colour laser printer work?
Colour laser printers work by charging the drum within it which is then subjected by a laser that reverses this charge. The charged areas of the drum are where the ‘data’ of your printed image or document is being transferred. A toner roller is then passed over the drum and the negative charge of the data (image or text) attracts toner particles to it like a big magnet, and then imprints them on a sheet of paper. It essentially takes the data of your document, arranges its toner particles into its likeness, and transfers this onto a physical copy on printer paper. This is the same across mono and colour laser printers, the only difference being that with colour laser printers it uses microscopic coloured toner droplets instead of just black.

Can laser printers print in colour?
Yes, laser printers can print in colour if you opt for the right model! It is wrongly assumed that they only print in black and white partially due to the success and popularity of the mono laser printer, but laser printers are perfectly capable of printing in colour. If you want really high-quality finishes for photos and images at a low print demand, then an inkjet printer would be better suited to you. If you require high-volume and high-demand printing but still with pops of colour, then a cost-effective colour laser printer is definitely what you should opt for.
