Find out more about taking your dog to work at Ryman Pulse

Did you know June 24th 2016 is the national day to bring your dog to work, and this year marks the 20th anniversary? First started here in the UK in 1996 and then taken up by our good friends over the pond since 1999, this is a day dedicated to bringing man’s best friend into the workplace.

This nationwide event aims to raise plenty of cash for charities dedicated to the welfare of dogs as well as boosting productivity and happiness for the day (or at least that’s the thinking).

The jury is out on whether having your pet in the work place will have a positive or negative impact on productivity. How would you feel having furry pooches dotted around the office, water bowls under desks and a latex squeaky underfoot on route to the printer?

Depending on the type of job you have there is the slight risk your beloved tail-wagger may find themselves in the dog house within the first hour. Working outdoors, pet related jobs or the self-employed may have an easier time than those employed in an office.

Cocking their leg up the bosses’ chair, a dirty protest in the boardroom or chewing through the server cables are fears too great to ignore!

If you feel your business IS a suitable environment though put the idea forward. Many businesses do understand the value of working in the company of dogs and their stress-reducing super-powers.

You can either get involved as a business or as individuals by making online donations to participate, and it’s estimated that around 300 businesses across the UK get involved each year and that number is growing rapidly.

Don’t forget to post a pic of your hound with a short quip about their ‘work duties’ for the day…
